The goal of the Institutional Advancement office at Cabrini College is to build relationships and raise money for the college.
"This means knowing what faculty and students are doing, understanding the needs of Cabrini, communicating this to donors and asking for their financial support," Loman said.
The office also works with alumni to keep them involved and updated as to what is going on around Cabrini's campus.
Loman received her undergraduate degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y. She majored in psychology and minored in criminal justice. Following her undergraduate studies, Loman received her master's degree in business from Columbia University in New York City, N.Y.
Loman has been involved with this line of work for over 20 years. Her most recent position before coming to Cabrini College was vice president for Development and Alumni Affairs at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y.
Loman also worked at other colleges and universities before coming to Cabrini, some of which include Columbia University School of Business and Sarah Lawrence College.
In addition to her work at various collegiate institutes, Loman also volunteered with the Maryknoll Missionaries for several years. She joined the Maryknoll Missionaries in 2000, and she still remains closely connected with them. While with the Maryknoll Missionaries, Loman spent about two years working and volunteering in Peru, while going through intensive language training for about five months prior in Bolivia.
The main thing that attracted Loman to Cabrini was the college's mission statement and core cirriculum Justice Matters. After her work with the Maryknoll Missionaries, it was only natural for Loman to be attracted to Cabrini. Loman is one who is in high favor for the new core curriculum and she thinks it is very important for others to understand what is going on around the world.
